Jellyfish

I was so fortunate to get to tour the Monterey Bay Aquarium after hours one evening, as my friend and other musicians were setting up to play some jazz for a fund raiser. I stood there alone surrounded by Jellyfish in their amazing display. I've also gotten to swim with them in the Carribbean, too close one time and I was stung on my leg.

They are beautiful, gracefully fluid creatures, and they lend themselves well to the transparency of glass. This particular photograph does not show well the rich purple color at the top, but it is similar to the Magnolia Vase in color.
