Orchid and Butterfly

Phalaenopsis Orchid is the first orchid I attempted to grow and with wonderful success it bloomed twice every year for several years, so I had to draw it and etch it on this wonderful glass, hand blown by a young couple in New York.

Everyone loves Butterflies, and the American Indians have a legend of capturing a Butterfly and whispering a wish, the wish is passed on to the Great Spirit and in gratitude for giving the beautiful butterfly freedom, the Spirit always grants the wish. So according to legend, by making a wish and giving the butterfly freedom, the wish will be taken to the heavens and be granted.

This vase stands 15" tall, jade green at the top, and copper blue at the base.
